Today, I wandered aimlessly, About my daily chores. Finally, the tears were falling. I couldn't hold them anymore. My heart, it seemed so burdened From the load I had to bear. I was trudging along, hopelessly. Nothing mattered, I just didn't care. Then, a stranger took the time To smile at me and say One kind word, to lift me up, To brighten up my day. Bless this stranger, Lord, I pray. For, he helped me to realize Just how important kindness is, When seen through another's eyes. © 2002 by Claytia Doran

Pearls are a product of pain. When a grain of sand pierces the shell of an Oyster, all the otherwise dormant resources within the tiny oyster respond To the foreign irritant by caring for that sensitive spot. Over time, the Sand particle is covered by healing fluids, and the wound becomes a pearl. That's true for you, too. When hardships invade your life, allow God's Spirit to shape your response. Don't be bitter. Don't rush ahead of His Plan. Rest in Him. Allow Him time to turn that irritation into an Opportunity for your growth - and watch a beautiful pearl emerge from your Set of circumstances. Pain is inevitable; suffering is optional. M. Kathleen Casey
************ ********* ********* ********* ***
All of our experiences live on in our minds.Sometimes we "nurse" our Wounds...savoring them, keeping then alive to feed our self-pity and Resentment. In my life I named this process "Curse it, Rehearse it, And Nurse it."
When we first have the bad experience, we curse it. Then we rehearse It by telling our story over and over. And we nurse it by keeping the Wound open, alive and throbbing.
When we become obsessed with the pain, we wallow in it rather than Learn from it.We pour salt on our own wounds every time we replay the Circumstances that triggered the pain.
The experiences that pinch our nerve endings don't have to imprison Us. Our freedom lies in letting go of the need to suffer, releasing The situation with gratitude for the lesson, and choosing to be Present in the NOW moment of our lives.

 | WAIT | Jun 28, '08 1:00 AM for everyone |
(Author Unknown) Desperately, helplessly, longingly I cried; Quietly, patiently, lovingly God replied. I pled and I wept for a clue to my fate, And the Master so gently, said, "Child you must wait." My future and all to which I relate, Hangs in the balance, and you tell me to WAIT? I'm needing a "yes," a go-ahead sign, Or a "no," to which I then can resign. And Lord, you promised that if we believe, We need but to ask, and we shall receive. And Lord, I've been asking, and this is my cry, I'm weary of asking, I need a reply! Then quietly, softly, I learned of my fate; As my Master replied, once again, "You must wait." So, I slumped in my chair, defeated and taut And grumbled to God, "so I'm waiting... for what?" He seemed then to kneel, and His eyes wept with mine, And He tenderly said, "I could give you a sign." I could shake the heavens and darken the sun, I could raise the dead, and cause the mountains to run. All you seek I could give, and pleased you would be. You would have what you want, but you would not know Me. You'd not know the depth of My love for each saint. You'd not know the power that I give to the faint. You'd not learn to see through the clouds of despair, You'd not learn to trust by knowing I'm there. You'd not know the joy of resting in Me, When darkness and silence were all you could see. You'd never experience that fullness of love, As the peace of My Spirit descends like a dove. The glow of My comfort, late into the night, The faith that I give, when you walk without sight. The depth that's beyond getting just what you asked, Of an infinite God, who makes what you have, last. You'd never know, should your pain quickly flee, What it means that "My grace is sufficient for thee." Yes, your dreams for your loved ones, overnight would come true, But, oh the loss if I lost, what I'm doing in you! So, be silent, My child, and in time you will see, That the greatest of gifts is to get to know Me. And though oft' My answers seem terribly late, My most precious answer of all, is still WAIT.

Your presence, is a present to the world. You're unique and one of a kind. Your life can be, what you want it to be. Take the days, just one at a time. Count your blessings, not your troubles. If you wish to receive value from others, be willing and able to offer value in return. For the most effective way to ask is to offer. There is no end to what you have to offer. You can offer your time, your experience, your expertise, your opinion. You can offer your skills, your knowledge, your insight, your understanding, your companionship and so much more. Your life is brimming with value that is yours to offer in return for the value that you seek. Begging, whining, complaining and demanding will earn you little more than the contempt of others. Offering something of true and meaningful value, on the other hand, can bring you just about anything you desire. You deserve the best that life has to offer. And the way to attain it is by giving the best that you have to offer. Ralph Marston

By Catherine Pulsifer, © 2007 How many times do we say something that we immediately realized was not the right thing to say? How many times do we look back on an event and think, if only I had.... How many times do we do something that we wish hadn't done? You can't change what has been said. You can't change a past event. You can't change what has been done. Do you call it regret, sorrow, repentance? Do you think about what might have been? Do you relive an event the way it should have been? Forget about regret, and focus. Focus on today, not on the past. Focus on what you can do, not what you didn't do. The only thing to regret is living in the past The only thing to feel sorrow for is not living each day to the fullest. The only thing to do to repent is to sincerely say, I'm sorry. Don't live your life regretting yesterday. Live your life so, tomorrow you won't regret, today.
